Site Location 

Town of Crestone: The event is held throughout the enitre town including Town Hall Park,  Little Pearl Park & Creekside Park. Just drive into the middle of Crestone and you can’t miss us.

Event Parking & Shuttle

Please park in designated spots in the Town of Crestone. Our parking situation is very tight so please consider carpooling.

Shuttles and carpooling will be arranged for Home Tours and will be meeting at the Crestone Kiosk before you enter the Town of Crestone.

Site Schedule 

A full program schedule will be posted on our website, posters around the site and an optional program guide can be purchased for a suggested donation on site.

How much does it cost to come to the Energy Fair?

The Energy Fair has been a free event since its inception in 1990.  We honor this tradition to offer free education to all regardless of their financial situation.  We are encouraging a donation or a trade of volunteer hours to help us create an atmosphere of true exchange.  Please consider making a contribution through our Go Fund Me campaign:  http://tinyurl.com/GFMEnergyFair2022

Is there set-up help needed?  

Yes, help will be needed on Thursday 8/25 & Friday 8/26 from 10AM-7PM.

Is help needed during the event?

Yes! Our event is volunteer run so we have many roles to fill throughout the day.

Is there break down help needed?

Yes, we will need break down help on Monday, 8/29 from 10AM-6PM.

Is water available?

Yes, we will have water available on site for hand washing.  We will have access to one town water pump, but please consider bringing your own drinking water. 

Are there bathroom facilities on site

Yes, port-a-johns will be available.

Is shade available?

The venue is in the Town of Crestone and we will provide shade for the main audience seating areas.  Please consider bringing your own shade for areas not covered.

Camping

BLM and Forest Service land is close and it is free to camp on in Colorado for up to 14 days in the same spot. Look up South Crestone Trailhead or Liberty Gate trailhead.

North Crestone Campground – $7/night Check for availability   

Lodging – There are many Air BnB’s and several Inn’s located in Crestone.

Will there be vendors?

There will be a variety of arts and crafts vendors on site throughout the day. If you would like to vend, please fill out our vending form on our website and separate instructions will be sent to you. 

Will there be food on site? 

Licensed food vendors will be on site all weekend and there are several restaurants located in the Town of Crestone:  Cloud Station, OFIA, T-Road Brewery, Bucks Pizza.  Volunteers who sign up and work 3-4 hour shifts will receive a free meal ticket for the Volunteer/Crew kitchen.

Grocery stores?

The Elephant Cloud and the Crestone Mercantile are in the town of Crestone. 

Is there power on site?

No – you are welcome to bring your own portable solar or other alternative energy systems.   We also recommend bringing headlamps, flashlights and/or solar lights for the evening. (Vendors & Presenters will have power options available)

Is internet available?

Yes – the Town of Crestone has free wifi service.

Is there phone service on site?

Yes most major phone companies have service in Town but coverage can be spotty.

What can I do with my trash, recycling, and compost?

We ask that you help us Leave No Trace by packing it in/packing it out.   

There will be trash, recycling and composting receptacles on site but please remember we are far from services and every bit of clean-up helps.  Compost is welcome to stay for local garden projects.

Closest Emergency Services?

Call 911 for Emergencies.

Basic 1st AID will be available for your own use on site. The Baca Grande Emergency Medical Services is the closest EMS and ambulance service located within a few miles of the event. The nearest hospitals are an hour away in Alamosa and Salida, CO. 

How far is it to the nearest gas station?

Crestone – Elephant Cloud – O miles away

Saguache – 26 miles away

Mosca Pit Stop – 32 miles away

Is the event family friendly?

Yes!  There will be a Youth Village hosted by Rainbow Lightning. If you are bringing children, consider helping out with a volunteer shift in the village. Please contact Taylor Martin for more information taylorthetailor@rainbowlightning.org.  

Are pets allowed?

Pets are allowed on leash in the Town of Crestone, but please be mindful of the heat and that this will be a very busy event. We encourage you to leave pets at home.
