Please take a few moments to read our Event FAQ which has VERY IMPORTANT information for you to consider coming to an off-grid event.

On Site Registration
Main Gate Registration will be open from 8AM-8PM but we encourage people to come for the whole day to maximize your experience.
You will be asked to sign a liability release waiver & agree to the property guidelines.
We will also be taking temperatures.
Directions to 19850 Camino Del Oro East
From Crestone: Take CO RD T to the POA/Funeral Pyre sign (Camino Del Oro East)) and turn Right. Turn right at the curve and go past the funeral pyre. Turn left immediately after the pyre and drive .8 miles to the entrance gates.
From Hwy 17: Turn onto CO RD T to go to Crestone out of the Town of Moffat. Take CO RD T to the POA/Funeral Pyre sign (Camino Del Oro East) and turn Left. Turn right at the curve and go past the funeral pyre. Turn left immediately after the pyre and drive .8 miles to the entrance gates.

How much does it cost to come to the Energy Fair?
The Energy Fair has been a free event since its inception in 1990. We honor this tradition to offer free education to all regardless of their financial situation. We are asking for a donation or a trade of volunteer work hours to help us create a beautiful, flowing event that is truly collaborative and creating a circle of support.
Is there set-up help needed?
Yes, we will be on site throughout the week, and help will be needed Wednesday, Sept. 9th, Thursday, Sept. 10th, Friday Sept. 11th from 10 AM – 6 PM each day.
Is help needed during the event?
Yes! Our event is volunteer run so we have many roles to fill throughout the day. Please consider signing up for one of our volunteer shifts at the main gate registration.
Is there break down help needed?
Yes, we will need break down help on Sunday, Sept. 13th from noon – 7 PM and on Monday, Sept 14th from 10am-2pm.
Is there water available?
Yes, we will have water available on site for hand washing. Please bring your own drinking water. There are no showers on site.
Are there bathroom facilities on site - Yes
Is there Shade available?
The venue is in an open sandy field. There is no shade and no trees. We recommend providing your own source of shade. We will do our best to provide shade for the main audience seating area.
There is no camping on site, but BLM and Forest Service land is close and it is free to camp on in Colorado.
North Crestone Campground - $7/night for availability.
Lodging – There are many Air B&B’s and several Inn’s located in Crestone.
How about parking?
Designated parking will be along the right side of Camino Del Oro East en route to the entrance gate. Parking is free.
Will there be vendors?
There will be a variety of arts and crafts vendors on site throughout the day. If you would like to vend, please fill out our vending form and separate instructions will be sent to you.
Will there be food on site?
There will be limited food for sale from licensed vendors and food for free on site through the collective efforts of the community. We will accept donations of food throughout the weekend as well. Please bring your own bowls, plates, cups, utensils. Dish washing station will be available with soap and hand sanitizer.
The Elephant Cloud and the Crestone Mercantile are in the town of Crestone.
Is there power on site?
No – you are welcome to bring your own portable solar or other alternative energy systems. We also recommend bringing headlamps, flashlights and/or solar lights for the evening.
Is internet available?
No – we need all of the bandwidth to run our livestream.
Is there phone service on site?
Very limited phone service at the site.
What can I do with my trash, recycling, compost?
We ask that you help us Leave No Trace by packing it in/packing it out.
There will be trash, recycling and composting receptacles on site but please remember we are far from services and every bit of clean-up helps. Compost is welcome to stay on property.
Closest Emergency Services?
Basic 1st AID will be available for your own use on site. The Baca Grande Emergency Medical Services is the closest EMS and ambulance service located within a few miles of the event. The nearest hospitals are an hour away in Alamosa and Salida, CO.
How far is it to the nearest gas station?
Crestone - Elephant Cloud – 6 miles away
Saguache – 20 miles away
Mosca - Mosca Pit Stop – 26 miles away
Is there a Kids Area?
There will be a kid’s area hosted by Rainbow Lightning. If you are bringing children consider helping out with a volunteer shift in the Kids Area.
Are pets allowed?
No, unfortunately no animals/pets are allowed on the property.
Are we allowed to drink alcohol, smoke tobacco, smoke cannabis on site?
We ask that attendees consume anything on site responsibly and according to age guidelines.
